In a recent press announcement, Image Entertainment says they will release ‘The Double’ on Blu-ray on January 31.

When a United States Senator is brutally murdered, the evidence points to a Soviet assassin code- named Cassius, who was long-thought to be dead. Two men who know Cassius best are thrown together to catch him. Paul Shepherdson (Richard Gere, ‘An Officer and a Gentleman’) is a retired CIA operative who spent his career tracking Cassius around the globe. Ben Geary (Topher Grace, ‘Spider-Man 3′) is a hotshot young FBI Agent and family man who has studied the killer’s every move. Ben thinks he knows Cassius, but Paul knows he is dead wrong. The Blu-ray will feature 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and supplements include Commentary with director/co-writer Michael Brandt and co-writer Derek Haas, producer interviews, and a trailer.

The cast of THE DOUBLE continues to add talent, this time adding Martin Sheen, Stna Katic and Odette Yustman to the cast that already included Richard Gere, Topher Grace and Stephen Moyer. No word on who they’ll play, but Gere and Grace play CIA agents that attempt to track down the murderer of a US senator. True Blood’s Stephen Moyer will play the Russian spy, and arch-rival of Gere’s, that’s accused of the murder.

I can’t imagine Martin Sheen as anything other than the CIA director or office type that barks out the orders to Grace and Gere. And of course, Yustman will play some sort of love interest. The film sounds like a fun ride and I’m looking forward to Topher Grace breaking out of his quirky college kid persona.

Heat Vision Blog is reporting that Stana Katic (Castle) and Odette Yustman have signed on to the cast of The Double.

The actresses join a cast that already includes Richard Gere, Topher Grace and Stephen Moyer. The story centers on a retired CIA agent (Gere) who comes back to help a young up and coming FBI agent (Grace) solve the murder of a Senator. Katic will portray a Russian prostitute with vital information to the case and Yustman will portray Grace’s wife. Moyer plays a Russian spy in the film.

Michael Brandt will make his directing debut on the film from a script he co-wrote with his longtime writing partner, Derek Haas. Production is scheduled to start on June 21 with filming taking place in Detroit.

The Double comes to theaters in 2011 and stars Martin Sheen, Richard Gere, Topher Grace, Stephen Moyer, Stana Katic, Odette Yustman. The film is directed by Michael Brandt.

Odette Yustman plays a survivor of a ravaged-by-a-monster New York City in the upcoming horror movie “Cloverfield,” directed by Matt Reeves.

The 22-year-old actress who plays Aubrey on ABC’s “October Road” says she landed the role after her agent told her to turn up to more auditions six months ago, when the screenwriter’s strike threatened her job.

“Things are going to get really tough if a settlement is not reached, because writers had to enter the strike and can’t write even if they wanted to,” said Yustman, who added that “October Road’s” second season ends next Friday.

Yustman, who is of Cuban and Colombian descent, made her first film appearance when she was 5 years old, in Arnold Schwarzenegger’s “Kindergarten Cop.”

In 2006 she landed a role on the television series “South Beach,” and she has appeared in the movies “The Holiday” and “Transformers.”

In “Cloverfield,” she plays Beth, a “well-to-do college girl,” she says, and one of a group of friends who survives a supernatural and deadly attack in New York.

“It’s one of the most exciting experiences that I’ve ever had, because I had the opportunity to work with producers J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk and the director Matt Reeves, who are very big in the film industry,” said Yustman.

The movie was shot in Manhattan and Los Angeles, her birthplace and the city where most of her family lives.

“My mum is Cuban and my father is of Italian and French descent and was born in Bogota, Colombia, and raised in Nicaragua. But they moved to California a long time ago,” she says.

“I learned Spanish at home and, since half my family doesn’t speak English, it’s my first language.”
